This week's Cha Cha Cha! Bahut Achcha! Award for Song Discovery goes to...
alert readers Temple, Red, and their eagle-eyed friends for this 1985 find featuring Kamal Hassan and Madhavi.
(from Mangamma Sabatham, 1985)
I like learning about major stars of whom I am largely ignorant. I like interesting concrete architecture. I like the 80s. I love escalators. Voilà!

Hey Beth - So pleased you enjoyed this:) Kamal Hassan is a brilliant dancer, but oh dear God some of the choreo is dire. I do like the bit in this song where she uses her teeth to tear part of his vest off. Classy!
There are more than a few shades of Billie Jean there.
Hmmmmm, interesting. Love the Freddy Mercury outfit that Kammal is wearing though.
I like it, such fun!
I agree that Kamal Hassan is a great dancer, and that he was especially great back in the 1980s, but that this was apparently not one of his finer moments. :)
A little while back, I posted a great dance that he did in 1983:

Richard - that song you linked to is one of my all time faves. I love the simplicity of his performance, and the joy he shows in his dance. Thanks for the reminder :)
that's the anna nagar tower in chennai - an 80's landmark, i think!
Richard's song is indeed wonderful! I wish I knew the story surrounding it.
tamilpenn - Cool! Thanks for the ID. Found some great pictures of it on flickr now that I know what to look for :)
