I thought that Kareena was the one who saved the movie. But then again, the movie wasn't good, so perhaps not even she managed to save it.

I hope this review will keep some fans from watching the film.Mettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15977843.post-48092406405199700592012-12-13T10:37:23.530-06:002012-12-13T10:37:23.530-06:00Hahaaaaahhahaah

Kareena tries hard, bless her soul, but with a role that seems like it wasn't written as much slapped together on some sort of idea-board (GLAMOR! CIGARETTES! BIPOLAR! BISEXUAL! YACHT!), there isn't much she can do. Also, where does Bhandarkar find such awful actors for the bit parts? And the dubbing. Has there ever been more embarrassingly ghastly dubbing in an A-list film? The best parts are when she's happy with the cricketer or actually, actively doing career-y things, but of course Bhandarkar frames those bits as montages. '

Because then there wouldn't be a Madhur Bhandarkar film at all! Off late, MB seems to be only making films to show one-dimensional characters, especially in show business, where ambition and greed leads to a fall. Kareena hasn't been my favorite actor in the past, but I do have a few films that I liked her in Chameli, Dev, Omkara (all roles in which she is downplaying the glamorous diva aspect of her personality, coincidence?), and with Talaash, I thought she gave an intelligent performance and was quite compelling in all her scenes, holding her own admirably with Aamir, no mean feat. Sorry to hear that Heroine isn't the vehicle to give her a successful solo starring role. Few can do it, though, and the industry isn't really set up to allow it, either.

karrvakerala, I liked Chandni Bar, too, quite a bit. Tabu and Atul Kulkarni were wonderful in it, and that last scene stayed with me for a long time. Page 3 wasn't bad, either with Konkona and Atul again, but didn't have as much impact. Maybe Mr. Bhandarkar started strong and then is sliding downhill due to a lack of fresh ideas?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15977843.post-18017975154050749662012-12-09T09:42:09.073-06:002012-12-09T09:42:09.073-06:00Thanks for the warning. Though I haven't really gone back to watch it after it's initial release. Have you seen it?karrvakarelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11564711886357771427noreply@blogger.com
